Groundspeed

Employee Spotlight: Bradley Goodyear

Meet our Workflow Automation team Lead, Bradley Goodyear. Bradley and his team are responsible for a lot of the backend portions of our human-in-the-loop technology. Working with our Platform Engineering team, the workflow automation team supports a wide range of Groundspeed’s human workflow processes, enabling the complex routing required to bring together automation and humans working in tandem.

What is your favorite part about Groundspeed?
I enjoy the bright minds I get to work with each day. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of learning from many people. I also really enjoy the freedom to work remotely.

What are you most proud of during your journey with Groundspeed?
I’m really proud to have the opportunity to revisit and improve systems that I worked on years ago and improve them as we have sharpened our knowledge of insurance and the most effective ways to process files. It feels good to take something you worked on years prior and build and improve upon it. Plus, it allowed me to explore different facets of the software engineering lifecycle so early in my career.

What would you say to someone considering a career with Groundspeed?
We are a great company with a first-mover advantage, but we still have room to grow and improve our offerings and revolutionize the insurance space. Our team is full of brilliant people who love to have fun at work.

What do you think is the future of Commercial Insurance Underwriting and the role of Groundspeed in shaping that?
As with all things in life, we are increasingly moving away from legacy processes that take weeks to complete and towards same-day results. Groundspeed is uniquely positioned to drive this change in the industry and work to standardize and transition legacy and cross-company data into a single format.

Can you share a fun fact about yourself?
I got into software engineering from a game called ROBLOX. This just goes to show that sometimes video games can help make you money.
